Qorvis Welcomes Veteran Media Executive Victor Shiblie

Washington Diplomat President and Publisher Brings More Than Three Decades of Media, International Business, and Diplomatic Experience to Qorvis

WASHINGTON, D.C. Oct. 6, 2026 — Qorvis today announced that veteran media executive and international business strategist Victor Shiblie has joined the firm as Senior Advisor, bringing more than three decades of experience spanning media, international affairs, global business, and diplomatic engagement.

Shiblie joins Qorvis after a career at the center of Washington’s diplomatic and international community. For more than 25 years, he has served as President and Publisher of The Washington Diplomat, one of the capital’s leading publications serving the diplomatic community.

Under Shiblie’s leadership, The Washington Diplomat built relationships across more than 180 foreign embassies, U.S. government institutions, multinational corporations, and international organizations. He also produced high-level policy forums, international conferences, and economic-development programs bringing together ambassadors, senior government officials, corporate executives, and international leaders.

“Victor understands the power of media, relationships and communications in international affairs because he has spent more than 30 years working at their intersection,” said Matt Lauer, Chief Executive Officer of Qorvis. “Few people in Washington have built the breadth of relationships across the diplomatic, media and international business communities that Victor has. He brings extraordinary experience, judgment and connectivity to Qorvis nd, most importantly, to our clients.”

At Qorvis, Shiblie will advise clients on strategic communications, international business development, market access, and engagement with diplomatic, government, media, and business stakeholders, while helping expand the firm’s international network and global business opportunities.

Beyond his media career, Shiblie has extensive experience in international trade and cross-border investment, including connecting investors, developers, government stakeholders and commercial partners on international energy and infrastructure opportunities. He has also advised foreign investors pursuing opportunities in the United States and foreign governments seeking to attract American investment and strengthen commercial ties with the United States.

“Qorvis has built a unique platform combining communications, geopolitical insight, international business, and access to decision-makers around the world,” said Shiblie. “I am excited to join a team that understands how these disciplines increasingly intersect and to put my experience and relationships to work for Qorvis clients.”

Earlier in his career, Shiblie led marketing and operations for KENO Electronics, an international import-export company serving government, embassy and commercial clients. He has also held civic and international leadership roles with organizations including the Ambassadors Ball Host Committee, Passport DC, the World Affairs Council, and the Arab American Business & Professional Association Institute.

Shiblie holds a B.B.A. in Marketing from Radford University and a certification in export management from the Government of the District of Columbia. He is conversant in Arabic.
