25
YEARS
at the Nexus of Capital and Influence
Part I
Born in a time of transformation, we thrive in the eye of the storm.
2000
Founding
Qorvis is founded on August 15, 2000, in the middle of the NASDAQ correction. Our mandate: help clients raise capital and communicate with clarity through market turbulence.
From day one, our reach stretches from Wall Street to Main Street to K Street, and, increasingly, to the rest of the world.
2001
Post 9/11 Pivot
In the aftermath of September 11, Qorvis takes on one of the most consequential reputation mandates of the era, beginning work with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in October. The engagement launches a model that still defines us today: showing up for clients when the stakes — and the scrutiny — are highest.
2003-2006
Defense & National Security
During the post-9/11 military build-up, Qorvis worked with major defense and aerospace clients (e.g., Lockheed Martin, Huntington Ingalls), on public strategy and government engagement.
Part II
Where the world moves, we are there first.
2008
Financial Crisis & The Digital Turn
As the financial crisis hit, we supported major institutions through market turmoil. During the Obama transition, we stayed ahead of the digital curve by building the first Webby-winning interactive inauguration app.
Read about the Qorvis Obama Inauguration App in the New York Times.
2009
Public Health & Mexico
During the H1N1 pandemic, Qorvis leads CDC communications support and media training. The same year, Qorvis is retained by Mexico to combat the drug-violence narrative. As the pandemic takes hold, we pivot to reputation management during the public-health crisis. Qorvis also launches its long-running two-day crisis-training program, which we still offer today with experts who worked on these crises.
2010
Deepwater Horizon & The Early Arab Spring
Qorvis manages the response and reputation of major players in the energy sector in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon disaster. At the same time, Qorvis begins advising governments and institutions through the first tremors of the Arab Spring — the start of a long chapter in political-transition communications.
2011
Arab Spring & Ebola
Supporting governments in Egypt, Libya, Yemen, and Liberia, Qorvis provides strategic communications in some of the most turbulent political environments of the decade, alongside Firestone’s Ebola crisis communications.
2012
China Engagement
Qorvis is the first U.S. Agency of Record for the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, opening a bilateral practice that spans public diplomacy, cultural exchange, and events including panda diplomacy events and Ivanka Trump Mandarin engagement.
Part III
We expand our network and capabilities wherever our allies need them most.
2014
Publicis Acquisition & Sanctions Practice
Qorvis is acquired by Publicis Groupe, the French multinational advertising and PR group, expanding our global agency network. The same year, Qorvis launches its sanctions advisory and compliance practice, the seed of today’s Market Intelligence & Compliance service.
2015
Cultural Heritage
Qorvis represents the Museum of the Bible, addressing artifact provenance concerns tied to Hobby Lobby.
2016
Brexit & the Trump Era
Qorvis adapts to a new populist political era with Brexit and the U.S. election cycle, and manages communications for a major defense contractor (Lockheed Martin) during the F-35 program controversy.
2017-2018
Saudi Crisis
In March 2018, Qorvis manages the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s North American tour. Through sustained global scrutiny, Qorvis remains one of the few firms that continues advising Saudi Arabia, a testament to our commitment to standing by long-term partners through difficulty.
2019-2020
TikTok, Impeachment & COVID-19
Social media disruption reshapes communications strategy as TikTok emerges as a political flashpoint. As COVID-19 arrives, Qorvis supports healthcare and biotech clients with stakeholder and press engagement, managing clients’ reputations and key issues during a defining public health moment.
Part IV
New leadership and new markets - with a 25-year legacy.
2022
Russia–Ukraine & Management Buyout
Qorvis guides commodity- and energy-sector clients through sanctions, market disruption, and reputational risk following the Russia-Ukraine conflict. At the end of 2022, the firm completes its management buyout from Publicis Groupe, returning Qorvis to independence.
2023-2024
Rise of AI & Global Expansion
In an age of AI, Qorvis doubles down on Physical Intelligence. While leveraging technology to accelerate our work, we prioritize physical presence and direct access, opening new global hubs and ensuring our clients remain ahead of shifting political tides in Washington and beyond.
2025
25 Years of Physical Intelligence
Celebrating a quarter-century of navigating the world’s most complex challenges, Qorvis expands its hubs in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Today, Qorvis remains the premier partner for those who require intelligence, access, and a physical presence where it matters most.
Looking Ahead
The moments ahead – another political cycle, another technology shift, another global pivot – will demand sound counsel, strong relationships, and people in the room. That is Physical Intelligence, and that is how we work.
