The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Strengthening one of the world’s most consequential bilateral relationships

Situation Summary

Situation Summary

After September 11, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia faced intense scrutiny in the United States when it was revealed that 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudi nationals. The Saudi government selected Qorvis to help neutralize widespread negative media coverage and support efforts to reestablish the Saudi-U.S. relationship, beginning what would become a decades-long partnership.

Qorvis launched a comprehensive communications campaign to ensure policymakers, media, and the American public had direct access to Saudi perspectives and factual information about the Kingdom’s role as a strategic partner in the fight against terrorism.

In the subsequent 25 years, Saudi Arabia continued to operate at the center of global political, economic, and security conversations. During periods of heightened international attention – including leadership transitions, regional security crises, and major economic initiatives – Saudi leaders have needed reliable ways to communicate directly with global audiences. Senior Saudi officials also sought stronger engagement with policymakers, investors, media, and the public across the United States, Europe, and Asia while advancing major economic, humanitarian, and diplomatic initiatives.

Qorvis Solution

Qorvis Solution

Qorvis built a decades-long international communications strategy spanning media engagement, digital growth, executive positioning, and high-level convenings.

In the early phase of our engagement, Qorvis implemented a multifaceted campaign integrating media relations, advertising, government relations, grassroots outreach, and digital communications. The strategy focused on providing the media with factual information and direct access to Saudi officials, engaging policymakers across the Administration and Congress, and educating American audiences about the Kingdom and the broader Middle East.

Over the years, Qorvis continued to support senior leadership in reaching international audiences.

We secured prime-time interviews and major broadcast engagements for senior Saudi officials across networks, including ABC, BBC, CBS, CNBC, CNN, Fox News, and NBC, including the exclusive 60 Minutes interview with HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as well as major interviews for senior officials such as Prince Khalid bin Salman and Adel Al-Jubeir.

We positioned Saudi leaders in leading global publications, including The Financial Times, Bloomberg, Reuters, and The New York Times, and placed opinion editorials in outlets such as The Wall Street Journal and The Times of London.

In parallel, Qorvis developed long-term digital strategies for key Saudi institutions. For the Muslim World League, we expanded social media audiences to more than 3 million followers, while building new digital platforms from the ground up. For KSrelief, Qorvis delivered a targeted digital campaign that generated 73 million impressions and nearly 200,000 clicks.

Qorvis also helped design and organize major international engagements, including the U.S.–Saudi CEO Forum in New York, which resulted in more than $20 billion in agreements with companies such as Google, National Geographic, Raytheon, and JPMorgan.

Over more than two decades, Saudi Arabia gained consistent access to the world’s most influential media platforms and policy audiences during major international news cycles, while broadening engagement between Saudi institutions and global audiences. Across successive administrations and changing geopolitical environments, Qorvis has served as a trusted communications advisor supporting one of the most important bilateral relationships in international affairs.
