During the 2025 White House Correspondents’ Dinner Weekend, Qorvis cohosted a festive party at Capitol Hill hotspot Butterworth’s to support Helping a Hero, a Texas-based nonprofit dedicated to building specially adapted homes for post-9/11 veterans severely wounded in service.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Raheem Kassam, Kari Lake, Shaun McCutcheon, and Sean Spicer joined a guest list that included legacy and new media, policymakers, staffers, and Trump-world influencers for an evening of combat-ready cocktails, lively conversation, and a worthy cause.

The evening also spotlighted two veterans and Helping a Hero home recipients: Marine veteran Daniel Gilyeat and Army veteran Amon Benjamin, who shared their stories with the room. Both reflected on what it meant to be part of the weekend’s conversation—on a night when the media, policymakers, and influencers were paying attention.

“This event reminded me that we’re never alone in our mission,” said Gilyeat, who lost his leg while serving in Iraq (and had his prosthetic signed by President Donald Trump earlier in the week).

Amon Benjamin reflected on the night’s importance: “Standing among leaders and storytellers who listened to our experiences gave me a renewed sense of purpose. Helping a Hero changed my life, and I’m glad that I had the chance to share that story with the world.”

Whether you skipped the official White House Correspondents’ Dinner formalities or were making the rounds on the party circuit, Butterworth’s was the weekend’s hot ticket—a meeting ground for a new cross-section of Washington, where influence is shifting and presence matters.

In addition to its homebuilding efforts, Helping a Hero supports wounded veterans and their families through retreats, recreational activities, and emergency grants. To learn more about Helping a Hero or support its mission, visit helpingahero.org.

Special thanks to consummate host—and one of D.C.’s newest power restaurateurs—Raheem Kassam for the hospitality and rousing good time.
