Qorvis worked with the Embassy of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and its Vice President, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, to improve the country’s image on the global stage amid sustained negative media coverage and heightened international attention.
The Equatoguinean parties also sought guidance on navigating the American media, business, and political ecosystems while addressing complex legal and reputational challenges in the United States.

To counter persistent negative coverage, Qorvis adopted a multifaceted strategy focused on both media engagement and direct stakeholder outreach.
Qorvis assisted the Embassy in drafting corrective editorial letters in response to inaccurate or imbalanced coverage, supported by sourced, fact-based messaging. We also developed press materials highlighting national priorities, including leadership roles in regional institutions, cooperation with international organizations, and domestic development initiatives.
At the same time, we worked to deliver these messages directly to key American decision-makers. Qorvis arranged a congressional delegation to Equatorial Guinea to foster greater understanding of the country’s economic and strategic importance. This effort complemented broader engagement through initiatives such as the Houston Investment Forum, which promoted investment opportunities while reinforcing longstanding economic ties with the United States.
In parallel, Qorvis provided strategic communications guidance during a sensitive legal matter in the United States, emphasizing cooperation, transparency, and a constructive path forward.
